You can never underestimate the power of a good dinner—like, an actual real dinner, not one that’s consumed from takeout boxes. I’m talking about a whoooole spread, complete with appetizers, entrees, desserts, and maybe even a couple charcuterie boards tossed in the mix, just for good measure. When you’ve got the fancy matching plates and a chic al fresco dining setup with a patio umbrella and everything, why wouldn’t you want to show off your hosting skills?

But the party doesn’t have to stop once the food is all gone. In fact, that’s usually when the party’s just getting started, if you catch my drift ;) Offering after-dinner drinks to your guests allows 'em to wind down after the meal without feeling rushed to leave right away. Plus, the best party conversation usually happens over a couple post-din cocktails. Or you can break out the ‘90s throwback playlist and a few board games so people can bond over drinks, nostalgia, and a little friendly competition.

Knowing which drinks to serve after dinner is an art form, though. Not everyone’s a beer or wine drinker, but not everyone’s into cocktails, either. And some folks may be abstaining from alcohol altogether. It’s a ~beverage balancing act~, but never fear, because I’ve found the latest and greatest in delish apéritifs to help ya out. Ahead, check out the 10 best after-dinner drink recipes to serve at your next soirée.
