In the words of Jesse Palmer, Charity Lawson’s love story is “one for the ages”—and it looks like she’ll be walking away from this season of The Bachelorette with a giant Neil Lane ring on her finger. But which of Charity’s gaggle of boyfriends will win her heart? We have our eye on several contestants based on how things are unfolding on the show—including Joey Graziadei. You know, the dude who showed up night one and humble-bragged about living in Hawaii.
While 27-year-old Joey didn’t get the first impression rose, Charity made her feelings about Joey clear, saying, “Joey gives me butterflies I’m not gonna lie. It’s just something about his smile but also his presence.” And also probably his floppy ’90s hair, but that might just be us.
Aaaanyway, here’s everything we know about Joey so far—including spoilers on how far he makes it this season.
In Case You Hadn’t Heard, Joey Lives in Hawaii
As he profoundly put it, “Life in Hawaii is amazing. I feel very lucky to live there.”
Cool, this seems like a good enough excuse for us to share these pics:
He Teaches Tennis (Immediately Hot)
Joey moved to Hawaii for a job teaching tennis, which has taught him to be “very compassionate” and “very patient.”
Would hire him as my instructor.
Joey Is Super Close to His Family
He explained on The Bachelorette, “My parents split when I was pretty young. I wouldn’t say it was easy. But my family is just an extremely loving family. And both my parents were amazing co-parents, so the fact that that didn’t work out doesn’t take away from romance for me.”
Judging from Joey’s Instagram, he’s extremely close to everyone in his family, including his siblings!
He’s a Hopeless Romantic
Naturally, ABC’s bio writer wasted no time creating a tennis metaphor for Joey’s feelings on romance, musing, “‘Love’ may mean nothing in tennis, but to Joey, it’s everything!”
They also noted that Joey is “outgoing, friendly, and loyal” and is “looking for a partner who can share in his love for adventure. Will he find a doubles partner in Charity? Here’s to hoping it’s ‘game, set, match’ for Joey!”
God bless.
Also, while we’re here, these are Joey’s fun facts, which briefly put me to sleep:
• Joey is a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan.
• Joey is an avid star gazer.
• Joey’s recent obsessions are golf and country music.
Kay, on that note, here are all the available spoilers on how far Joey makes it on The Bachelorette.
He Wins the ~Longest Kiss Date~
Intel we knew months back thanks to Reality Steve. Yep, turns out Joey is one of the men who scored an invite to compete in the longest kiss with Charity, and he took home the win!
Joey and Charity Have a 1-on-1 in New Orleans
Reality Steve sleuthed things out a while ago and revealed that Charity and Joey “took a horse carriage ride around town and danced in the streets with beads.”
And obvi like they hit it off because....
Joey Makes It to Charity’s Final 4
Joey’s hometown was filmed on April 13 in Pennsylvania (where he’s originally from). His fellow hometown daters, according to Reality Steve? Xavier Bonner, Aaron Bryant, and Dotun Olubeko.
And now for the moment you've all been waiting for: how far Joey makes post-Hometowns! Here’s what Reality Steve has reported:
- Three men make it to fantasy suites: Xavier is first, then Joey, and then Dotun
- Aaron shows up between Joey and Dotun's dates after not making it to the final 3 (according to Reality Steve, Charity "does not take him back)"
- Joey and Dotun are in the final 2, and we'll let you see how it all plays out...
*Le sigh* deeply sorry for all you Joey fans out there, but the good news is that he has a shot at getting to be our next Bachelor—an update that could be revealed as soon as Charity's live After the Finale Rose special. That said, it's also possible ABC will go with a different contestant from the season or even an alum from elsewhere in the franchise, so def stay tuned!
