By this point, musicians (and style icons) Rosalía and Rauw Alejandro are household names in their own right, having created tons of chart-topping solo music as well as incredible collabs together—including their most recent EP titled RR, which dropped back in March 2023. And not only was the album a *chef's kiss* project thanks to the songs the two penned and sang together, but it also featured one music vid in particular that broke the internet because it revealed that Rosalía and Rauw were engaged.

However, fast-forward four months and it seems that the two have not only called off their engagement, but have split up for good. I'll give you a sec to dry your eyes and text all of your group chats about the truly devastating news. 😭

According to People, sources revealed that despite the love the singers have for one another, they both agreed to end their engagement. Additionally, no reason for the split was mentioned in the article and no official statement from either artist has been released, but we'll def keep you updated when any news drops.

Now, if you're wondering exactly how we got here (or you wanna relive the couple's cuteness just one more time), dw! We've got you covered with this handy-dandy relationship timeline.

November 2019

The couple ~officially~ meet IRL at a Las Vegas hotel lounge during the 2019 Latin Grammys. "I was nervous, I’m not going to lie," Rauw recalls later in a March 2023 interview with Billboard. "Rosi came down and I saw her. I got even more nervous.” The couple also reveals the meet cute was "100 percent love at first sight."

2020

Rosalía sings the backing vocals on "Dile a Él" from Rauw's first album, Afrodisiaco. This is far from the first time the singer and rapper collab on a track, too. Later, Rosalía does the vocals on his song "Corazón Despeinado" from 2022's Saturno and helps pen "Caprichoso" from his EP Trap Cake, Vol. 2 that same year. Rauw also co-writes some of Rosalía's songs, including her iconic "Chicken Teriyaki" from her 2022 album, Motomami. Clearly, the couple that collabs together stays together!

Meanwhile, Rosalía's boyfriend writes, "Aunque se vaya el sol contigo el día nunca acaba Feliz cumple bebe…," which references his own love track, "Aquel Nap ZzZz." Translated, the lyrics mean, "Even if the sun leaves, the day never ends with you. Happy birthday, baby." I'm not crying, you are!

^ Get you a man who makes you laugh like this!

While accepting his award later that evening, Rauw even gives his girlfriend a kiss on stage and calls her his "muse."

November 18, 2021

When asked at the 2021 Latin Grammy Awards what first attracted him to Rosalía, Rauw tells Entertainment Tonight, "She's perfect. She's beautiful."

He then touches on her Rolling Stone cover and gushes, "I'm really proud, man. She's amazing. She deserves everything that happened, that is happening en su carerra [in her career]. She works really hard and, you know, [I'm] really happy man."

January 20, 2022

During his own Rolling Stone interview two months later, Rauw opens up even more about his relationship with Rosalía, including how she influences his music. "Not all the songs are about her specifically. She can be my muse, but she inspires me in different ways: sounds, production-wise, not literally. People get confused. Right now, if I put out a sad song, it doesn't have anything to do with my personal life."

That said (!!), there is one track that's definitely about his fianceé, which he alluded to in that Insta post for her birthday back in September 2021 called "Aquel Nap ZzZz," which the rapper says "is literally for her."

March 2022

During an appearance on the talk show El Hormiguero, Rosalía discusses her "RR" tattoo, which fans have *obvi* speculated is in honor of Rauw in light of their romance. Per Teen Vogue, the singer is asked to show off her most "meaningful" tattoo, which she dishes is the "RR" tattoo that she has on her foot. When playfully asked whether it stands for the Rolls Royce logo, Rosalía cheekily says, "Or it could be something else."

"It hurt a lot because I got it done without any sort of numbing," she recalls about the experience of getting inked. "I told [him], 'I'm going to get your initial tatted because it's also mine.'"

June 2022

The couple lives out my dream of vacationing in Greece during the summer, and not only are they seriously living their best lives, but it is rumored that the two are engaged!!! In one post in particular on Rosalía's account, the musicians are pictured on a boat, eating fruit, and enjoying the stunning scenery. Ahem, observe:

But, oop! What's that in the fifth pic? Oh, yah, a MASSIVE rock on the singer's finger. Casual:

Hindsight is truly 20/20, people. This one wound up being right under our noses and though there were murmurs of an engagement, it barely made any news at the time. The more you know!

September 25, 2022

The two celebrate Rosalía's 30th birthday in Times Square (iconic) and are later captured leaving NYC restaurant Carbone, per photos obtained by The Daily Mail. The singer later posts a recap of the trip with the series of emojis "💓🎆 🍰 🧩🍭🧋🎮🍧🎰🎟."

October 8, 2022

During Rosalía's second show at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California for her Motomami World Tour, concertgoers (and the singer herself!) are surprised when Rauw gets on stage for "Despecha." When Rosalía looks off to the side, she finally notices her now-fiancé and looked shocked before continuing her performance of the song.

The two eventually share a kiss onstage in a truly 🥺 moment, which you can watch here:

The singer takes a moment to thank her fans and the academy in a sweet IG post that includes a pic of her and Rauw on the carpet. "Thank you very much for the grammys that so far the academy has granted me but this year is more special than ever because I'm sharing it with the love of my life," she gushes.

Rauw, for his part, writes his own message about the evening, musing, "Thanks to the academy to our fans, there are 14 nominations between the two. I feel very happy and very blessed to be here and more by your side @rosalia.vt I love you 'mami!'"

December 13, 2022

In yet another Rolling Stone cover story, Rosalía reflects on how she and Rauw have celebrated their many accomplishments, including her last album, Motomami. "I hugged the two people I love the most in this life, because they also know how much I had to fight to finish this album," she confesses, referring to Alejandro and her sister Pili.

December 31, 2022

Rosalía and Rauw spend the end of the year in Japan alongside tons of their friends. A perfect way to end 2022!

March 13, 2023

In a joint Instagram post, the couple announces that their project, titled RR, will drop on March 24 and consist of three songs titled "Beso," "Vampiros," and "Promesa." Yes, the news practically breaks the internet. No, people are not ready for it, because....

March 24, 2023

On the same day their joint EP drops, Rosalía and Rauw announce they are engaged!!! The musicians share the exciting news via a music video for their track "Beso," which I have easily seen over 100 times.

Towards the end of the vid, Rosalía is seen wiping away tears and saying "oh my god" in Spanish as she shows off a massive diamond ring before turning to kiss Rauw.

March 29, 2023

For Billboard's Touring Issue both Rosalía and Rauw are captured in their first joint cover, where they speak about their relationship dynamic.

"Rosi has a more solid music base than I do in the sense that I'm more extroverted in my music, but she's far more disciplined," Rauw tells the outlet. "But she's a freak-crazy workaholic. Piano lessons, dance lessons, voice lessons; what else can you learn when no one sings like you? At the beginning, I didn't really get it, but after some time, I said, 'Okay, let me try to follow her lead and see.' And the difference is huge."

Rosalía adds, "You are far more relaxed. You're someone who really lets go. It's as if you have a lot of faith and just an organic feel. You're always telling me to relax, to let go more. And just telling me that teaches and helps me. You balance me."

"Of course, my career is super important in my life, but at the same time, in my life, you're my companion, and everything else comes second," she adds.

*Le sigh* My overall mood about these two:
